Singing A Capella is definitely hard work. It requires not only good singing skills, but also careful ear training which needs to be practiced for an extensive time. In order to successfully sing A Capella, you must be able to hit the required correct musical notes. Therefore, your ear needs to recognize pitches, tone colors and rhythms by hearing – so that you are able to turn these hearing skills into your voice & singing techniques.
We know already – this sounds super complicated! But nobody started as a professional ‘A Capella Singer’ naturally. Thus, as a passionate singing class, we want to:

Three tips to become a ‘TCD Glee Club - A Capella Singer’
1. Start with your ear training today.
It might sound stupid at first, but you will be amazed to find out how a carefully developed hearing can improve your A Capella Singing skills & your voice quality of hitting all notes. So get started now! This video can help you with that.
2. Learn from others
Watch a number of A Capella Performances & try to imitate their singing styles, tones and voices. Often it already helps, if you get an idea of a Song & how different voice tones are used to create the full singing harmony. Check out some ideas here!
3. Practice with a Vocal Coach
Secure yourself a spot at our next Vocal Coach Workshop. Getting feedback about your personal singing tone, breathing techniques & hearing is a valuable step to further develop. Our vocal coach loves practicing with you individually! So mark this date in your calendar: 12. December 2020 & register via mail tcdgleeclub@gmail.com.
We invite all of you for our Annual A Capella Contest on Friday November 20th, 2020. You can register in groups of 5 people for the contest. Every group should have prepared 3-4 songs depending of how long you stay in the competition. We can't wait for it!
