Being part of the TCD Glee Club means singing together but also spending a lot of time together having fun and growing into a family !
As our tradition goes, we organise a yearly trip for all of our members to bond and have a good time ! Last year we organized a weekend hike trip to The Western Way.
We left on Friday night and came back on Sunday evening to Dublin. We left by coach on Friday evening, we had a lot of fun playing car games and singing in the coach. We arrived in Oughterard at 9pm and everyone put their bags in their rooms and settled quickly. We then all joined together at a pub where we had a large quantity of food and beers and sang all night !
It was hard for some to get up the next day - looking at you Mike. It was very grey and misty when we left, we were all shivering but everyone was determined and motivated to hike !
We walked up the Maumturk Mountains and made camp in the Inagh Valley alongside the Twelve Bens mountains. It was the first time for a few of our team members camping outside. Our returning club members were all too willing to show them the tricks and traditions, including smores, ghost stories and our traditional campfire sing along. Shout out to Maria for bringing her ukulele with her !
The next day, we packed our tents up and left promptly, we still had a few kilometers to finish up before the end of the day. We continued in the Inagh Valley and ended our weekend hike through the Killary Harbour.
We reached the coach in the parking lot at 7pm. The ride back was calmer than the ride from the beginning but chatting amongst ourselves we could see that you all had a good time bonding and maybe even creating stronger bonds !
